10 Things You Must Never Do To Your Cat

The adorable cat's behavior is the reason many people make this animal as a pet. But taking care of a cat is not an easy matter. There are many things that need attention, including things that should not be done. What are some of them? Consider the following explanation.

1. Do not force your will. Cats like human attention, especially their owners. But don't force your will on him either. For example, holding a cat from leaving or forcing it to look when called, to force it to wear clothes.

2. Do not just keep plants at home Plants can indeed enhance your home decor. But some plants are poisonous and harmful to cats. One of them is the lilies or lilies which can cause kidney failure and death in cats. Cats can just drink water in a vase of lilies. This can damage the kidneys. So, if you want to care for certain plants at home, make sure those plants are safe for cats. You can also place the plant out of reach of the cat.

3. Do not let the cat play with the string or string. The string or string is a foreign object that can be harmful to the cat. It could be that the string or string is wrapped around the cat's body. If this happens, the cat's intestine can lose its function and even have to be removed surgically. It's best to choose toys that are safe for cats. Try to consult the vet what toys if suitable for cats.

4. Do not teach cats to "play hands" Sometimes pet owners like to prankish their cats. Owners like to use their hands as bait for cats to 'eat'. Remember, cats are basically chasing and hunting animals. Teaching a cat to 'eat' the fingers can be dangerous for both the owner and the cat itself. A more appropriate way to play with cats is to use inanimate objects such as toys as intermediaries.

5. Never punish a cat directly. Even though it's cute, sometimes there is a cat's behavior that irritates you. If that happens, don't immediately punish him like hitting or yelling at him. Punishing a cat directly can have unintended consequences. Cats are very sensitive to loud and high noises. These animals consider these sounds frightening and a form of threat. That way the cat can start avoiding its owner.

6. Avoid feeding cats only dry food. Just like other living creatures, cats still need water even though they can adapt to live in dry environments. So don't just give your cat dry food. Give the cat occasional wet food to prevent dehydration. Chronic dehydration too often can lead to tooth decay, stones in the bladder and urinary tract infections.

7. Don't always provide 'free food'. Cat feeding hours should be regulated. Don't leave cat food available at all times. Because it can make him obese. Make sure to only feed your vet recommended amounts of food to avoid weight problems in your cat. If you have trouble managing your cat's feeding schedule for reasons of being busy, try purchasing a pet food dispenser. Set the time in the dispenser to dispense food automatically at the specified hour.

8. Do not give the cat milk Cats tend to like the sweet taste of milk. But actually this is dangerous for cats. Avoid consuming milk in cats. Because most cats are actually lactose intolerant. Giving a cat milk can cause serious health problems.

9. Never give animal bones. In cartoon shows you may have seen cats being fed bones. But that's actually wrong. Cats, especially domestic cats, should not bite into fish bones or other animal bones. Bones are especially dangerous for cats because they can get stuck in the throat, stomach or intestines.

10. Never leave a cat alone for more than 24 hours. Many people choose to adopt a cat over a dog because they think the cat can take care of itself. However, while cats are generally more independent than dogs, they are not independent loners. So don't leave the cat alone for more than 24 hours. If you are forced to go away for a long time, make sure someone takes care of the cat. Or it could be temporarily put the cat in a daycare.
